East Cambridgeshire District Council’s Health and Happiness event is returning to residents’ screens once again.

The Health and Happiness idea was first launched back in 2016 when the Council held an event at Ely Country Park featuring demonstrations and guidance from local organisations that encourage people to make positive changes to their health and happiness.

Subsequent events have been held both online and in person as part of the Council’s COVID-19 recovery process.

The event will take place on the Friday 11th February from 10am and can be accessed via the Council’s YouTube channel.

This time, the event will focus on the different avenues of support on offer for residents across the district. Guidance and local support schemes will also be a topic for the day and all events from the day can be watched live via the Council’s YouTube channel or as recordings at a later date.

The day will feature events about the Council’s Housing and Community Advice Service, the Eyes and Ears initiative and Healthy You.

Councillor Julia Huffer, Chairman of the Operational Services Committee, said:

“It is great to see the return of the Health and Happiness event with a particular focus on how to stay well over the winter period.

“The colder months can be a difficult time for many and this event is a great way to find out more information on the support that is available and the groups that are offering it.

“From keeping warm in winter to accessing support funding and health advice, there is something for everyone and I would encourage residents to get involved and because the event is virtual, you have the added benefits of being able to access it all from the comfort of your own home.”

Recordings will continue to be available on the East Cambridgeshire District Council YouTube channel after the recordings are released.
