Volunteer breastfeeding peer supporters wanted

Peer supporters can make a real difference to women who want to breastfeed.

They listen, provide information, and share experiences to help mothers reach their feeding goals. Being mothers themselves, they understand. They ‘get it’.

Does this sound like something you could do?

We are looking to recruit some local mothers to train as volunteer breastfeeding peer supporters as part of the East Cambs Little Milks project.

You will need to have breastfed your baby for at least six months, and be able to commit to volunteering at least once a month in a breastfeeding group alongside other volunteer supporters. Training is fully funded and will be done online via the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers* and there will be additional support from a specialist Breastfeeding Counsellor.

This is a great opportunity to support other parents in your local area, learn new skills, and gain valuable experience for your CV.
