The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) explains how the Council involves communities, individuals, and other key stakeholders in plan-making and planning decisions. This is to ensure effective community involvement at all stages of the planning process. The current SCI was adopted by the Council on 12 July 2018.
The SCI covers consultation arrangements in respect of planning applications, pre-applications, modifications, appeals and enforcement, as well as planning policy matters. Planning Policy can include the preparation of a new Local Plan or a Neighbourhood Plan. The SCI sets out the levels of assistance from the Council at various stages of the planning process.
