Further changes to waste collection days
We are really sorry but we need to make a further change to waste collection days in the areas listed below so we can deliver a more effective and efficient service for residents:
- Shippea Hill
- Queen Adelaide (some areas)
- Little Ouse
- Some rural areas of Littleport
Based on feedback from bin crews and to ensure we can continue to deliver the high standard of service you deserve, we need to collect fewer bins on a Wednesday.
This means from 17 May bin days in these areas will change to a TUESDAY.
The frequency of collections will remain the same, with black sacks collected weekly and blue and green bins collected fortnightly.
We appreciate this is yet another change and would like to offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
The reconfiguration of our bin days is very complex. We have had to factor in many variables including the individual needs of residents, new routes, how much waste each vehicle can carry and the rural nature of our district. The fact it has not been possible to trial run changes means some issues can only be ironed out once the crews have practically worked through the new routes on the ground.
Residents can find out more at www.eastcambs.gov.uk/bindaychange.
