training, guidance and work placement programmes (external link)
work experience, volunteering and job trialling schemes (external link)
help combining work with looking after children or caring responsibilities (external link)
You may also be able to keep getting some benefits once you start working (external link).
Support for disabled people
Speak to your local Jobcentre Plus if you’re disabled or have a long-term health condition. They can help you find a job or gain new skills (external link), and tell you about specific programmes to help you back into work.
You might be able to get an Access to Work grant (external link) to pay for:
special equipment, adaptations or support worker services to help you do things like answer the phone or go to meetings
help getting to and from work
mental health support
communication support at a job interview (external link) (for example, a British Sign Language interpreter or a lipspeaker).
