Cooling Tower Notification

Under the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992, if you control non-domestic premises in the district of East Cambridgeshire, you must notify East Cambridgeshire District Council of any cooling tower or evaporative condenser (notifiable devices) on the premises.

There is no charge for notification but it is a legal requirement.

Notification must be in writing or by electronic means in a way that gives all the information required in law.

You must notify the Local Authority in writing of any changes to the notification information within one month of the change.

If the device ceases to be a notifiable device you must notify the Local Authority in writing as soon as reasonably practicable.

It is in the public interest that East Cambridgeshire District Council must process your application before it can be authorised. If you have not received a response to your application within a reasonable period or you require further information, please contact us (external link)
