Who do I contact to make a complaint about dog fouling?

If you are aware of an owner allowing their dog to foul and not picking it up, then contact the dog warden. The dog warden will require details of who the dog belongs to so that a visit can be made to advise the owner of the legal requirement for them to pick it up. If you know who the dog owner is, it would be helpful if you could find out their address and pass it on to the dog warden.

If there is an area in general where dog fouling is a problem let the dog warden know, so that surveillance in the area can be increased.

A fixed penalty of £50 may be served on anyone committing an offence under Section 3 of the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 for failing to remove, forthwith, dog faeces.

Dog waste bins are serviced once a week throughout the district.  If you would like to report a full dog waste bin please complete this online form.  The bin will be emptied by the end of the next working day after receiving your report.

We will pass any reports of dog fouling onto our Waste contractors who will ensure that the waste is cleared by the end of the next working day.

If you know who owns the dog that has been fouling, please let us know.  We will pass any reports onto our Waste Enforcement Team to be investigated.
