Food hygiene training providers

We cannot recommend individual training providers, nor are we able to recommend a particular course. The law requires that food handlers be trained to a level commensurate with their duties and the level of supervision that is available.

A level 2 course should inform you and your staff of the legal responsibilities and best practice regarding controlling temperatures, food storage, food preparation, personal hygiene, and premises cleaning. Upon completion of this training, students should be confident regarding food hygiene knowledge and have the skills and tools to keep people safe and comply with food hygiene law.

A level 3 course is aimed at managers and supervisors to help them understand their essential day-to-day responsibilities, including how to implement the basics of a HACCP food safety management system. A suitable course provides knowledge of food hygiene practices and legal responsibilities and gives further detail on the controls that can be implemented to ensure that the food handling process is as safe and hygienic as possible.
