Scenario website testing study

Our new website launched in December 2024 and we are always striving to make it the best it can be.  With your help as a tester using real task scenarios, we will be able to identify how, informative, intuitive and easy it is to use and identify how we can make it even better.

Start the test

Scenario-based usability testing will be conducted, reflecting real-world tasks to establish a benchmark of the current user experience across the website. It will allow us to:

  • identify existing usability pain points
  • measure user performance and satisfaction
  • inform future development and enhancements

Approach and what to expect

This testing will be completed remotely. You will be asked to complete a few typical tasks on the website (like finding information, resources and or forms). The test is completely anonymous; you won’t have to enter your name or email address. With your permission the software will record your screen and voice during the test. Please allow 20 to 30 minutes for the study. Once you begin, the tasks must be completed in a single session.

Please be advised that:

  • this is not a test of your ability - there are no right or wrong answers
  • some tasks may be tricky to complete, please speak out loud any frustrations you experience
  • even though the microphone must be enabled for the test, you do not have to speak if you don't want to
  • if you are unable to complete a task, you can click 'skip' at any time
  • this is a test of the website's capability, so please don't be tempted to use the digital tools to complete some of the tasks
  • the microphone may pick up background conversations, please try find a quiet place

There will be clear instructions as you progress through the study but here is a brief overview of what to expect:

  • before you begin, close all other windows to ensure nothing confidential is recorded
  • you will be given a task to complete
  • after reading the task, you will be directed to the main website
  • navigate through the site as you naturally would fulfil the task
  • as you complete the tasks, please speak your thoughts out loud if possible, share what you're doing, noticing or thinking
  • do not log in, enter personal details or submit forms - instead, stop at the point where you would normally log in or submit information
  • answer a few follow up questions about your experience
