Last call for local businesses to share their comments on the impact of COVID-19

Our online survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 on local businesses and tailor its future support is closing soon.

The purpose of the survey is to capture information about how the pandemic has affected businesses and provide an overview of the predicted long-term effects. The council will then use this data to further tailor the support and advice it provides as part of its COVID-19 recovery plan.

Councillor Ian Bovingdon, Chairman of the COVID-19 Working Group, said:

“We’ve had a terrific response already from this survey, but we want to urge as many local organisations as possible to complete the survey before the deadline.

“COVID-19 recovery remains one of our top priorities and we’re here to support both businesses and residents.

“With this data, we can better understand how organisations have been affected and what concerns they have for the months ahead.

"This means we can provide additional help and support to help them get back on their feet.”

The survey covers everything from the financial impact of business disruption, measures taken to cope with the impact of the pandemic and if support was obtained from the Small Business COVID-19 Grant Funding schemes.

It also covers how COVID-19 has affected training and apprenticeship programmes, the impact on supply chains, key concerns for the year ahead and what additional support businesses feel they need.

Local businesses have until 16th October 2020 to get their comments in.
