Ely Markets plans to raise the city’s Christmas spirit with an array of festive events throughout December.

The festivities start on Wednesday 6th December with the launch of Ely Market’s Festive Lates. Commencing from 4.00pm and closing at 8.30pm, the series of family-friendly events will include street food, shopping, live music and entertainment for adults and children alike. The Festive Lates also take place on the 13th and 20th December.

As the countdown to Christmas ramps up, the 18th December will initiate a whole week of markets for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Ely Markets will also play host to their Christmas Mini-Markets on the 18th, 19th and 20th December from 10am until 3pm. This provides an opportunity for last-minute present buying, as well as a chance to indulge in the variety of food and gift stalls available.

The month-long celebrations come to a close on Friday 22nd December with their Special Christmas Market. Taking place from 8.30am and ending at 3.30pm, enjoy the selection of  craft, food, vintage & farmers stalls at hand. There will also be a very special visitor all the way from the North Pole.

These extra-special events are in addition to Ely Market’s Charter Market on Thursdays, Craft, Food and Vintage Market on Saturdays and Sunday Market which will all be taking place as scheduled.

Emma Grima, Commercial Director for East Cambs Trading Company, said: “We are so excited to hold these events for residents and visitors to enjoy. We hope that they will add to the Christmas spirit in the city and provide another option when buying presents for loved ones. The Festive Lates will also allow people to meet with friends and family to enjoy the entertainment on offer.”

There are a range of free short-term and long-term car parking options in the city, enabling people to enjoy what Ely has to offer.
