An excellent opportunity has arisen to undertake a training contract in a busy legal practice, offering an interesting and varied workload and providing legal services which proactively assist and enable the Council to deliver. 

 

East Cambridgeshire District Council is an ambitious and forward facing Council with a number of exciting initiatives and projects in the pipeline.  The Council has recently formed a local authority trading company, providing extra challenges and opportunities for the authority.

 

You would be part of a small team with a wide ranging workload including public law, planning, property, litigation, corporate governance matters and contract work.

 

You will have passed the Legal Practice Course or qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive, be self motivated, able to demonstrate initiative and be a creative and innovative problem solver.  You will have a high level of literacy and numeracy, be confident in using IT systems, possess an interest in local government and have good presentation and interpersonal skills, together with a proactive client focused approach that delivers results for the organisation.
