Public Health Guidance for Events

Guidance for living safely with Covid-19 and other respiratory infections:

Public Health advice for events has been updated and is set out below:
  1. Vaccination – Event organisers should support staff and customers taking up the vaccine and boosters when they become eligible.
  2. Stay at home if unwell, if tested positive, try to stay at home for five days.
  3. Protect staff and customers from Covid-19 by:
    1. Assessing the level of ventilation in indoor spaces, per the HSE guidance, and include that in your risk assessment. Bringing in fresh air to occupied spaces can help to reduce the concentration of respiratory particles
    2. Ensure good hand hygiene through handwashing and provision of hand sanitisers
    3. Continue frequent, cleaning of high hand-touch surfaces at the venue including communal areas and any shared equipment such as microphones
    4. Continue to promote the wearing of face coverings in indoor and/or crowded places where people may come into contact with people they do not normally meet.
Event organisers should continue to comply with the requirements for cleaning, ventilation, and welfare facilities in the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 or the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 to control occupational health and safety risks.
