Month of Community

The Month of Community is a time to come together to celebrate everything that makes our local communities great.

Launching during the Month of Community, 22 parish councils now have litter picking equipment that can be loaned to residents. The local parishes are taking part in a friendly competition with other parishes in the district, to see who can collect the most litter during the three months of June, July and August. The top three parish councils will receive a choice of either a tree or bench to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III in their local parish.

Parishes who now have their own litter picking equipment for loan are:

Ashley, Bottisham, Brinkley, Borough Green, Burwell, Cheveley, Chippenham, Coveney, Dullingham, Haddenham, Little Downham, Littleport, Lode, Mepal, Reach, Swaffham Bulbeck, Swaffham Prior, Wicken, Witcham, Witchford, Woodditton and Westley Waterless.

If you would like to borrow the littler picking equipment please contact your local parish council. Contact details can be found on our Parish Councils webpages

You can host a Big Lunch at any time during the Month of Community this June.

The dedicated Month of Community web page is packed full of ideas of how to get involved, Month of Community images to download, Pride Month images, as well as details of awareness dates other organisations are celebrating throughout June.
