The waste and recycling service in East Cambridgeshire is up and running again following its suspension yesterday due to adverse weather conditions.

The crews will be catching up on collections today, but continuing poor conditions in some areas and limited daylight hours are expected to mean not all areas will be completed today.

Dave White, Waste Strategy Team Leader, said: "We apologise for the suspension of the waste and recycling service in East Cambridgeshire yesterday but it would have been difficult for the crews to operate on streets and roads which were icy or covered in snow. The contractors, Veolia, will now be working hard to catch up with the collections today and tomorrow depending on the conditions they encounter on their rounds."

The latest updates on the waste and recycling service will be available via www.eastcambs.gov.uk or by calling 01353 665555.
