To get the latest updates on the local elections in East Cambridgeshire this Thursday night (5 May), the District Council is launching a new service to broadcast the results of the election.
The Council has set up a twitter account www.twitter.com/ecdcelection which can be followed for all the latest information and the website: www.eastcambs.gov.uk will have the results added live during the night.
John Hill, Returning Officer, said: “This election we are trying to make sure anyone who wants to know the results of our elections can find out as the wards are being declared. This is why we have launched our twitter feed and will have the results going up on our website all in real time.
"We hope this service will be useful - not just for the various media outlets but also for the general public who want to see democracy in action. This will be one of the best ways to experience the drama of a count from whether ever you are and to be one of the first to find out the final result in the early hours of Friday morning."
If anyone would like any further information about voting in the general please email elections@eastcambs.gov.uk or telephone 01353 665555 and ask for the Electoral Services team.
