Village Visions

We want to work with local communities to identify how villages should change or improve in the future. We want to identify local priorities, and get your views on key issues such as housing growth, employment opportunities, and the need for better infrastructure and community facilities. We hope to produce a 'Vision' for each village, which will provide a framework for development up to the year 2031.

For most villages, initial consultation took place in June/July 2011. Consultation focused on a short questionnaire which was agreed in partnership with Parish Councils. The questionnaires and consultation responses can be viewed by clicking on the links below. An overview of the district results can also be viewed below.

Further consultation is scheduled to take place in a number of villages over the winter/easrly Spring 2012 - details regarding specific consultations can be found by accessing the individual settlement links below.

Consultation results will help us to put together a 'draft Vision' for each village. Consultation on draft Village Visions is currently scheduled to take place in July/August 2012.

PLEASE NOTE - it is recommended that the on-line questionnaires are accessed via Internet Explorer Version 7. Other internet browers may fail to display the questionnaires correctly.

Town Visions

A significant amount of consultation with communities has already taken place in the Market Towns, through the production of the Ely Masterplan (2009), the Soham Vision Masterplan (2010) and the Littleport Masterplan (2011). The production of the Local Plan is an opportunity to incorporate the key proposals in the Masterplans into the statutory development plan for the district. We will be working in conjunction with the Parish/Town Councils in 2011, to test the deliverability and phasing of key proposals in the Masterplans in some detail. A draft Vision for each Market Town will be published for consultation in April/May 2012.
