Discover Computers in East Cambridgeshire
What is an Access Point?
Community access points are public or community buildings where computers, scanners and printers have been installed for you to use. The scheme effectively makes computers and the Internet available to people who do not have these facilities at home.
East Cambs On-Line is a whole new scheme especially for those living in rural locations and without computers at home.
At access points you can:
- Surf the Internet
- Send emails
- Scan photos and pictures
- and much more!
- Produce documents
- Research family and local history
Some access points have volunteer tutors to help and guide you to use the access point.
How do I get Started?
Simple. Just find your nearest Access Point.
Or you can contact East Cambs On-line direct by calling Nyree Scott on 07881 837543.
ECOL is run by a partnership between East Cambridgeshire District Council, the Cambridgeshire County Council's Library and Information Service, Cambridge Regional College, Community Education Departments at Colleges and the Access Point host Organisations. It is a venture jointly funded by European Social Fund, East of England Development Agency, Countryside Agency, Opportunities Fund and UK online.
