Cosmetic Piercing Registration
Cosmetic body piercing is the perforation of the skin and underlying tissue, usually with the aim of inserting jewellery.
Popular sites are the ears, nose, tongue, nipple, eyebrow and navel. The genitalia may also be pierced in a variety of ways.
If you wish to carry out cosmetic body piercing you must be registered with the Council. It is illegal to carry out cosmetic body piercing without registering.
If you wish to carry on the business of ear piercing you are required to:
- Register with your Local Authority where the business is situated.
- Observe the byelaws relating to cleanliness and hygiene of premises, practitioners and equipment.
Applicants in East Cambridgeshire will need to complete the registration form below.
To offer skin-piercing treatments, including tattooing, acupuncture, electrolysis, ear and body piercing, both the person performing the treatment and the premises must be registered with East Cambridgeshire District Council..
Applications must include any information required by the local authority.
