Music Event - Dance Island

Dance Island is taking place at Stuntney near Ely on the 5th/6th July. The dance music festival is licensed to play music between 12.00 pm on Saturday 5th July until 6.00 am on Sunday 6th July. Officers have worked closely with the organisers to ensure that the event runs smoothly and complies with the Licensing conditions. Monitoring of the conditions will take place throughout the day, noise levels will be checked during the night both by the organisers consultant and by officers from the council.
If residents feel that the noise levels are causing an unacceptable noise level please contact the event Head quarters on 07505 822467, the noise consultant will be on hand to undertake environmental monitoring of the surrounding villages if necessary. If residents still feel a problem exists they can call the council emergency telephone number, which is 07710 978900.

The next consultation phase is due to take place between 30th May and 11th July 2008. This will involve the Core Strategy Submission Draft, and associated documentation. The Council's Core Strategy Development Plan Document. is one of the key documents in the LDF, and will set out the Council's vision and strategy for the future growth of the district, and a range of new development control policies for assessing planning applications.

We have up to 3 vacancies for members of the public to become Lay Members of the Council's Standards Committee, which acts as a watchdog for Councillors' conduct.
We are looking for people from all sectors of the community with a range of skills and experience, but not necessarily formal qualifications.
